Leesha Harvey: Calendar

It's the season for post-nasal drip, so I coughed my way through this one... but even with the cold, I had so much fun! The gals that own Silver Creek are such wonderful people, and Matt on the congas really made the music sound uber-groovy. This is probably my last gig of 2008, and it was a good one!

I had a great time at Mick's, as always. I've only played there twice, but it is easily one of my favorite places to play. Great people all around!

I had the privilege of opening the show for Geoff Koch, who is an amazing musician/singer/songwriter from St. Louis. Check out his music:

The Listening Room has been supporting live music in central Nebraska for 18 years, and we were so honored to get to play here. I love playing with the band-- Mark (my hubby) and Matt are just amazing! The good folks at the Listening Room served us AMAZING food and made us feel right at home. The audience was lively and made it a fun show for us! We definitely hope to play here in the future!

Oh, and the opening artist, Peter Lainson, is quite the guitar virtuoso! He could get sounds out of his guitar that I can only dream of! Wow!

Mick's is such a great venue for original acoustic music. The audience was so supportive and encouraging and the place just had some good vibes, you know? :) I was happy that some of my friends made the trip to Omaha to see me play, and I got to meet a lot of wonderful people. I love the work that Habitat for Humanity does, and I was blown away by the generosity of the people that attended this fundraiser. And people gave with such joy! It feels good to invest in families in our community, and I was honored to be a part of this event.

My first Omaha show... I'll admit, I was scared! But it went well, and the audience was great. Driving in the rain in the middle of the night was not very fun, but Diet Coke and licorice kept me awake! :)

Aurora, NE is such a supportive community when it comes to the arts. This was a great event with live music and art on display, and it had activities for the whole family. Thankfully the rain stayed away for most of the show... kudos to the sound guys and event organizers that were prepared with tarps to save the sound equipment if need be! :)

Coffee shops feel like my second home when it comes to playing music. Cozy, intimate, and plenty of java goodness to go around! We had a good crowd, and I was delighted to hear people singing along with my songs!

Can I just say, I love Prairie Creek Wine!?! Seriously... it's really, really good!

I had a blast providing music for this event. I met some wonderful people, ate some yummy food, and (did I mention?) drank some delicious wine. A perfect night!

The night was a success! It was the culmination of a lot of hard work, but even though I was tired (and admittedly, a bit stressed!), it went really well. Mark and Matt sounded awesome; Kyra (the artist that opened for me) did fantastic; and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Many thanks to all my friends who helped behind the scenes to pull this thing together!

The show that went up in flames... literally!

I arrived to play only to find the streets blocked off by police cars and fire trucks. Turns out that an old, beautiful, historic building right across the street from where I was supposed to play was on fire! Between the noise of the firetrucks, the fire, and the crowd, there was no way a show could happen (plus they had to cut power off to the whole block--and an unplugged outdoor gig just doesn't work!). So, we watched the building burn. Ironically, the building is the exact same building in the picture on the back of my CD cover! It was sad to see such a beautiful building destroyed, but thankfully, no one was seriously injured.

Wow. That's really all I can say about this one!

When the director first asked me to play piano for this show, I had no idea how much fun the whole thing was going to be! I don't think I've laughed that hard and that often in my entire life. The actors were phenomenal, the directors priceless, and the crew simply amazing. I am honored to have been a part of this show. It was so much fun getting to make people laugh until they cried!

Oh my--this was a beautiful venue to perform in! Vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, and gorgeous artwork up for auction. I met some wonderful people and enjoyed listening to some other amazing musicians and talented high school speech competitors! And thanks to a new friend who let me use her keyboard last minute--I appreciate it! :)

I didn't get this show up on the calendar in advance, but I had such a fun time I thought I'd put it up after the fact. I was the opening entertainment for a full evening of eating, laughing, silent auctioning, and dancing--all to raise money for a very worthy cause! It was great to see some faces I knew, as well as meet some new people.
